Artist Statement

Open Field is an exploration of a uniquely photographic way of seeing and experiencing place and time. Each image in the series utilizes a direct trichromatic process. Pioneered before the advent of color film in an effort to convey a photograph truer to life than what the available monochromatic processes could offer, a trichromatic image is composed of monochromatic exposures filtered through red, green and blue filters which are then overlaid to obtain a single chromatic image.
